Question : Been frustrated with psoriasis since October. I’ve had an explosion like I’ve never had in my life. My entire torso (front/back) is covered in lesions, my face is 90% percent red. My arms and legs are spotted. I just don’t know why this is happening, I’ve never really had any skin problems in the past, and out of the blue this just manifested itself.

So after countless visits with my derm, I was put on Humira a month ago. I’ve yet to see any visible changes, but as I understand it, it may take up to 3 months to see anything.

How long did it take for some of you to see visible improvements?

Answers:

1.When I started on Cosentyx, I was seeing a difference within a month. I was 95% clear by two months. A few years before that I tried Stelara and basically had an allergic reaction, it made my psoriasis everywhere far worse. They had me on it for 3 months before we stopped, just to be sure it really want going to work. Reach out to your dermatologist and ask when you should start seeing results. It’s probably different for different biologics.

2.Humira it was 2–3 months. I was comparing humira and Embrel back with my doctor and was told humira takes longer to see resutls but has a higher rate of success/clearing. Embrel sees results faster but won’t reach the same % of clearing ever and switching would be hard. We didn’t compare others. By 3–4 months on humira i was 99% clear (after having severe 90% body coverage of psoriasis prior) and was very happy i took the longer results with higher success.

3.About a month to see some change. I’m on Taltz.
